Meet Corinne

Dear Neighbors,

I am Corinne Arnold and I’m running to represent you and our community in the NY State Assembly for District 66.  The reason I’m running is simple: you deserve a voice that actually listens to and acts on your concerns.  My neighbors constantly complain about dodging e-bikes and their experiences of being harassed when simply taking a walk.  Our sense of safety is threatened and our quality of life has declined.  Meanwhile, our cost of living is sky-rocketing and small businesses are struggling.

What’s missing?

Our legislators and Community Boards have failed to act and pass basic legislation to tackle these issues head-on.  When I’m in Albany, I will give you that voice.

I am uniquely positioned to deliver results for our District.  I am completely independent and come from outside of the political circleMy experience lies in delivering real results to thousands of stakeholders, managing budgets and listening.

I proudly serve as President of my 500-unit Cooperative, where I oversee a $12,000,000 operating budget and a 7-year large-scale capital improvement project plan ($22,000,000) to upgrade critical infrastructure and comply with carbon reduction laws (LL97).  During COVID, we were the first building to require masks and did not hesitate to hire outside security when civil unrest came to our doorstep.

Further, I am a proud co-founder of a local small business, EZ Election Solutions, which was created to facilitate digital Annual Meetings for coops and condos when COVID made it impossible to gather in-person.  Even in a crisis, people deserve a voice.  I serve on the board of the Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums (CNYC).  And, since 2006, I have been involved with Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a free-of-charge summer camp for children with serious illnesses.

I grew up in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio.  I studied economics and business at The Ohio State University.  My professional background includes working in public relations before moving to The Economist and starting my own business.  After college, I decided to build my life in New York, the most vibrant, diverse and dynamic city in the world.  And, over the past 20 years, through a lot of hard work, that’s exactly what I’ve done.

My decision to pursue a life of service was inspired by my parents.  My dad was a public elementary school teacher.  My mom was a small business owner who eventually became a guidance counselor at a public school.  Their careers were not full of glamor or high-paying salaries, the trade-off was the impact they had on their student’s futures.  They taught me the importance of education, personal accountability, hard work, respecting others, kindness, teamwork and to consider how my actions impact others.

It's these values that inform my leadership style.

It’s these values that I will take with me to Albany.

“District 66 is made up of hardworking families, small business owners, and neighbors who care for one another. I want to make sure every voice is heard and every community has the resources it needs to thrive. Together, we can build a district that is safe, vibrant, and welcoming to all.” ~ Corinne Arnold ~
